Details of some families supported by Melitha Foundation in Kerala, India:

Donation required Lineesh:

Lineesh, a 23 year old young boy, met with a tragic accident where a bus ran over his stomach. few years ago.  He had been bedridden for a long time but now has started to show progress in his health and has started to walk slowly with the help of a walker.  His father is an Evangelist and they do not have a stable monthly income. His mother suffers from asthma. Their house is damaged and has no bathroom facilities. Melitha Foundation appreciates anyone who is willing to support this family by donating money to help renovate their home.

Balakrishnan

Balakrishnan a poor carpenter from Thalavady, Kerala, India was living with his wife and two daughters. He was the only source of income to his family. Unfortunately one day during work he collapsed and ended up with  left side paralysis and there was no other means of income. His wife who was taking care of him also became very sick. The neighbors were of great help to this family. Another incident shocked their life when one side of their  roof ended up damaging their home and they were managing to live there with plastic sheets covered. During the rainy season their house used to leak which made it even more difficult to live . Melitha Foundation was able to support this family by raising a good amount. Thanks to Sunny Thomas who took up the initiative through Nanma Charity Link  to build this house

Pastor Samuel

Pastor Samuel, 84years old along with his family were living in a shed near Mardalam Village 100 kms from Mangalore,Karnataka, India . This was a very poor family who could not afford to build a home .The topmost picture was the shed they were living in. Melitha Foundation was able to build a home for this family as seen in the bottom portion of the same picture. Thanks to Pr.Manoj & Family who took up the initiative to construct this home.

 

Vishnu,  Preeya & Veena

vishnu preeya houseIn March 2013, Powervision TV channel had telecasted the story of 3 siblings Vishnu, Preeya & Veena aged 20, 17, 14 respectively residing in Kottayam, Kerala, India. These children are suffering from a rare disease called Spinocerebellar Ataxia.  Among the 3, the older two children are bedridden and the younger child has started progressive difficulty in walking.. Their father left them and their mother is the only person taking care of these children..  They didn’t have a regular income and with the help of others  they were managing to survive. This family was living in a rented home.  With the help of PFGA church members and many other friends, Melitha Foundation was able to raise money  to build a wheelchair accessible home for these children. Thanks to Powervision TV Channel who took up the initiative to construct a home as seen in the picture.

Shibu & Family

Shibu & Family House

Shibu who belongs to a poor family from Niranam, Thiruvalla, Kerala works as a laborer with a very little income. He and his family did not have a home.  Melitha Foundation was able to raise some money to support this family to build a house as seen in the picture during 2012

 

Elderly women supported:

For the past two years, Melitha Foundation has been supporting the Nedumpuram church in facilitating the gathering of around 20 elderly women from poor families. Every week they gather for a session of prayer and testimony sharing, and are provided with lunch as well. Small recreational activities are conducted once in a while to keep these elderly women active.  Each of them is given a small amount for their daily needs.  Melitha Foundation is looking forward to continually help them in the future.

Shimji & Shylaja:

Shylaja’s House

In March 2011, Powervision TV channel had telecasted the story of Rajappan’s family requesting for support. Rajappan lives in Thalavady,Kerala, India with his wife and two children, Shimji and Shylaja, aged 37 & 36 years respectively. Both his children are affected with a disease called Muscular Dystrophy and are confined to wheelchairs as a consequence of this disease. This is a very poor family and their house did not have a bathroom neither a wheelchair accessible facility. The children are taken care of by their father, who is more than 70 years old.. He has the burden to take care of his two grown up children and also does not have any stable income. With the help of PFGA church members and many friends, Melitha Foundation was able to raise money  to build a wheelchair accessible house for Rajappan and also supports them every month for their basic expenses. Thanks to Powervision TV Channel who took up the initiative to construct a home as seen in the picture.

 Mr. Biju K.K and family:

Biju House

Biju, who works as a driver, lives with his wife and three children in Puthupally Kerala India. They were very poor and did not have a house of their own. His wife is an arthritis patient and has great difficulty in walking. In 2010, Melitha Foundation was able to raise a good amount, which supported them in buying a small house of their own.

 

 Mr. Timothyose and family:

Timothyose House

This is a poor family from Chingavanam, Kottayam, India. Timothyose works as a laborer with very little income. He and his family lived in a  small home that did not have a bathroom neither a cemented floor. Melitha Foundation was able to raise some money with the help of family and friends.  This money was then utilized to build a bathroom with a water tank and also was able to complete the flooring of their house. This was the first project initiated through this ministry in Feb 2009.
